My work focuses on providing therapy to:

  • Children, adolescents, and families whose lives have been are affected by illness, injury, (dis)ability, or bereavement

  • Children from infancy to adolescence with a serious medical conditions, including: epilepsy, cancer, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, ulcerative colitis, complications of prematurity, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, orthopedic injury, cardiac conditions, and neurological conditions

  • Children and adolescents who are grieving the loss of a loved one

I began my professional training at Barnard College with a a dual concentration in Childhood Education and Theatre Direction. While at Barnard, I was fortunate to become involved with a non-profit organization, Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP), launching my journey as an advocate for children’s well-being and development.

After graduation, I became the volunteer coordinator and theatre teacher at a residential school in India. While in India, I discovered the power of theatre to help children express emotion and process life experiences. After returning to the United States, I spent 2 years teaching 3rd and 4th graders and introduced a drama curriculum centered on helping children develop conflict resolution skills.

Inspired by these experiences, I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Drama Therapy from New York University. During this time I led drama therapy groups for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety, trauma, and anger management challenges. I also completed an internship at Hackensack University Medical Center, where I developed a passion for working with infants, children and families affected by illness, injury, and (dis)ability.

After graduate school, I joined the staff of a child welfare organization, where I led group and individual sessions for infants, toddlers and their parents, centered on increasing parent/child bonding.

I then joined the pediatric staff of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone Health, where I worked with families in the neonatal, cardiac, surgical and emergency units, to provide psychosocial support to families experiencing medically related stress.

In addition, I began a private practice in Port Washington and New York City, NY, working one-on-one with families.
